If you are amongst those who know what “toro” is without having to ask, then you must take note of Sushiya Aoyama.
Head chef Hideki Aoyama and his (PR Guru) wife Elena Sánchez have relocated to Ibiza town after one year after the closing of Sushiya Aoyama’s in Plaza Sa Drassaneta.
The new location, a stone’s throw away from the culinary hub of Ibiza town’s Plaza de Sa Graduada, brings Sushiya Aoyama into the heart of the island’s gastronomic scene. Hideki Aoyama will offer à la carte classics such as toro sashimi, the Ibizan chicken tamagoyaki, Californian rolls, kaisen donburi, chirasizushi, sashimi teishoku, and an extensive sashimi menu using only the freshest local catch of the day.
From the moment you arrive, the flowing Japanese blinds welcome you into a serene dining experience. The relaxed atmosphere is complemented by the first Japanese counter style in Ibiza, crafted from imported chestnut wood and stretching 8 meters long, offering 12 lucky customers a place to watch the master at work.
The ambiance at Sushiya Aoyama is a harmonious blend of traditional Japanese aesthetics and modern sophistication. Soft, ambient lighting and minimalist decor enhance the dining experience, making it an ideal setting for both intimate dinners and special celebrations. The open kitchen allows diners to engage with the culinary process, creating a connection between the chef's craftsmanship and the meal’s presentation.
In addition to its exceptional food and service, Sushiya Aoyama prides itself on providing a unique sensory experience. The restaurant's carefully curated selection of sake and Japanese teas perfectly complements the menu, allowing guests to explore a range of flavors and textures. The attention to detail in both the food and the ambiance ensures that each visit is memorable, embodying the true spirit of Japanese hospitality.
With its refined cuisine and tranquil setting, Sushiya Aoyama is not just a restaurant but a destination for those seeking an authentic Japanese dining experience on the island. This exceptional eatery would not be out of place in Tokyo, bringing a touch of Japanese elegance and culinary artistry to Ibiza.
