Ibiza’s North-West: A Hidden Gem of Exquisite Bays and Unforgettable Sunsets

27.03.24

Ibiza’s north-western coast is a treasure trove of crystal-clear coves, charming villages, world-renowned restaurants, and some of the island’s finest wines. Picture-perfect bays surrounded by pine trees make this region a haven for nature lovers and those seeking a serene escape.

While the southern coast of Ibiza is famed for its sunset spots, the northern part of the west coast offers equally breathtaking locations to watch the sun dip below the horizon. Though busiest in the summer, the north-west transforms into a tranquil retreat during the winter months, offering a serene atmosphere that makes you feel like you have the island to yourself.

Secluded Getaways

Our clients often opt for holidays removed from the madding crowd, choosing traditional fincas like Can Sueno. Parts of this finca are 400 years old and it's surrounded by a 30-acre pine forest with direct access to a small local beach. Nights are spent star gazing with almost no light pollution, and you can easily drive to San Juan to dine in the village or enjoy an al fresco meal tended by our team, with moonlight dips in the pool.

Quaint Villages and Almond Blossoms

The village of Santa Agnes is a must-visit, especially in February when its almond trees burst into stunning blooms, attracting islanders on a spring pilgrimage. This picturesque village, with its traditional charm, beautifully represents Ibiza’s rustic allure.

Pristine Beaches and Sunset Drummers

The north-western coast boasts several well-known beaches, each with its unique charm. Cala Salada, with its blue-green waters, is famous for its seafood restaurant, while Cala Xuclar and Cala Xarraca offer clear waters ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Benirrás is renowned for its Sunday drum circles and the iconic Sunset Ashram, making it a cultural hotspot.

Adventure and Wine

Port de Sant Miguel, with its dramatic cliffs and waves, is a hub for water sports enthusiasts and the gateway to Ibiza’s wine-making region. Here, you can enjoy a range of activities from kayaking to diving, or simply savor the local wines in a picturesque setting.

Marine Life and Pirate Caves

For a fascinating introduction to Mediterranean marine life, spend an afternoon at The Aquarium Cap Blanc. Housed in a former smuggler’s cave, the aquarium features rays, octopuses, and other marine creatures in unique, naturalistic tanks. History buffs can explore the pirate caves at Can Marçà, or for a touch of bohemian flair, visit the original island boutique World Family Ibiza to find unique treasures.

Experience the Charm of Ibiza’s North-West

Ibiza’s north-western coast is a captivating blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and tranquil charm. Whether you’re exploring quaint villages, basking on pristine beaches, or savoring the local cuisine and wine, this region promises an unforgettable experience. Embrace the serene beauty and vibrant culture of Ibiza’s hidden gem.
